Visit of the ecomuseum of the Orient forest

€4 instead of €6 for the guided tour

Valid for 2 people

Guardian of people's memory and traditions, the ecomuseum of Orient Forest will show you the rural life through its works and dwellings. The Ecomuseum is a place of welcome, information and reflection devoted to the richness of our unique regional heritage.

The first site, the House of Days and Fields, brings together a collection of agricultural equipment from the last centuries and explains the rural life of yesteryear. You will see the evolution of the equipment: araires, plows, tractors ... In barns relocated on the site, you will discover the former workshops of carpenter, saddler, tailor, winemaker and many others. Throughout your journey, you will also discover reconstructions of the traditional habitat of our countryside, an old classroom and a hairdresser typical of the fifties, testimonies of the present style at the beginning of the 20th century. The second site "La boutique du charron", 200 meters from the first and in the heart of the village, is the original workplace of one of the last carters of the region. Left unchanged, the machines still work. You will discover the necessary equipment for maintenance of plows and other agricultural tools but also equipment for horses. Guided tours will allow you to discover a backed past, thanks to restored collections made up of local agricultural machines, traditional tools such as tailpieces, blacksmiths and marshals. A past with the rhythm of the pace of the horses, and the blows of a hammer on the anvil. 3 centuries of exposure to understand that we invented nothing, but only improved what the ancients had created.
